Lacrosse Parent Meeting
Posted September 10, 2007
by Jeff Pierick
Parents of all returning players and students who are interested in playing on one of our lacrosse teams (boys and girls) are encouraged to come to our first meeting of the year. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 18 at 7:00pm in the
Little Theater (room 223). This is an ideal opportunity to meet the coaches and learn about the plans for the upcoming season. We will be discussing some exciting new plans. The new booster board will also be elected. Because of limited space, the meeting is limited to just parents. Please come and be part of the team.
Update to the Board of Education

On Tuesday evening, I presented an update on the state of CIF lacrosse in our district to the Board of Education. Since I was not on the formal agenda, my presentation was limited to 3 minutes, but I felt it was important to let the Board and district administrators know that we appreciate their support. Click on the image below to see a small, streaming version of the presentation.

Just to add to the information for the sports physicals...the doctor is Dr. Ralf Reuland, father of Warren (Jr.) and Konrad (Fr. at Notre Dame)
He has his own practice in San Clemente. He does Family medicine, Sports Medicine and also dermatology.
I would highly recommend getting this physical out of the way now.
AND it benefits the trainers' program.

Championship Game at MVHS!
Posted May 2, 2007
by Nancy McCracken
Tonight was an important event for the future of lacrosse in the western states. The championship game for Orange County was played at our stadium....
this was important for a number of reasons....first and foremost is the fact that there were hundreds of spectators..maybe even a thousand that came out in support of this sport. There were teams represented from as far away as Palos Verdes..to JSerra..and all of the "in-betweens". Fans wore their team t-shirts, sweatshirts and letterman jackets...some even had a phrase on the back,,"the inaugural year of CIF lacrosse".
The marketing director of Riptide Professional Lacrosse was there with a fun booth and lots of give-a-ways.
The OCRegister was there doing a story..video..and photos...look for them tomorrow!
I think that I speak for many of us involved in the sport...we acknowledge the committment and work that this sport takes....and we are thrilled that it is finally being recognized for our boys and girls teams here in Orange County!
We had so little time to prepare for this important game ...and I was so proud of how we handled it with such little notice. I have soooooo many thank yous to extend that it would bore you all....
but a few have to be mentioned..
Melissa Parker...and family...thanks for the concession stand..and pitch hitting for the announcing..and Kevin for the pizza run...
Wendy Klapp...your generosity with the personal announcing system has been a god=send...and your help with concessions...invaluable.
The Conover Family...concessions etc.
John Boswell "the fabulous announcer"...thank you!
Kathy Nipps...the always consistent money=manager..and always on top of the situation
The Girls Team..for your amazing season!! You really rocked and rolled and made us all associated with LAX so proud!
and of course the coaches..who really dedicated themselves to making the transition to CIF from Club as smooth as possible.
I also want to thank those of you that stayed after the game and helped to clean up the trash..this sounds silly..but if we leave a mess,,,well then there is just one more thing to criticize the LAX teams for..and we know that we are not ..and if they have to clean up our mess..we have to pay for it.......even if it was not our teams playing....
Thanks...
for those of you that were at the game..and saw the support and enthusiasm..and the program that Foothill and El Toro brought...that is due to the level of committment to the program from the administration...and all of the other sports from those high schools.
We need to make MVHS THE program that the entire school, administration, students and parents committ to.
This off-season will be an intense working session. If you are interested in being on the Booster Board.. please send me an email.
